New Match Added To NJPW Wrestling Dontaku 2022

New match at Wrestling Dontaku!

A new match has been added to NJPW's Wrestling Dontaku event.

New Japan Pro-Wrestling have announced Hiromu Takahashi will go one-on-one with YOH at the show. Takahashi was originally scheduled to team with Tatsumi Fujinami and Shingo Takagi against Suzuki-gun's Taichi, Zack Sabre Jr., and TAKA Michinoku but NJPW noted BUSHI will replace Hiromu in the match.

The bout came about following Takahashi and Tetsuya Naito's win over YOH and Kazuchika Okada on April 18. Following that match, Hiromu questioned YOH's motivation but the former Roppongi 3K member fired back on April 20, pinning The Time Bomb in a rematch.

YOH then demanded a singles match against Hiromu before Best Of The Super Juniors gets underway, and NJPW ultimately granted his request.

Wrestling Dontaku will be Hiromu Takahashi and YOH's first singles match since Hiromu defeated the 33-year-old in the BOSJ 28 final in December.

Several other matches have already been set for Wrestling Dontaku, including an IWGP World Heavyweight Title match between Kazuchika Okada and Tetsuya Naito. The show will take place on May 1 at the PayPay Dome.
