Aug 23, 2024
With a little over a week until Emergence on August 30, TNA Wrestling have announced several new matches for the TNA Plus special from Louisville, Kentucky.
On the August 22 edition of TNA IMPACT, a huge eight-man tag match was announced, pitting The System (Moose, JDC, Brian Myers, and Eddie Edwards) against Mike Santana, Joe Hendry, and The Hardys.
Issues between the two sides have been bubbling for several weeks, with Hendry having eliminated Moose from the TNA World Championship six-man elimination main event of Slammiversary in July. Moose and JDC took out there frustrations on The Hardys on August 22 after losing in tag action to the multi-time tag champion, sparking an eight-man brawl to close the show.
Also on IMPACT, it was announced that former TNA World Champions Eric Young and Steve Maclin will clash at Emergence in a first time ever singles bout. The two have previously shared the ring on multiple occasions across TNA/IMPACT and WWE NXT, but never in singles competition.
The TNA X Division Championship Ultimate X match at Emergence also got its final two competitors during IMPACT, with Laredo Kid and Hammerstone booking their slots in the match. Hammerstone defeated KUSHIDA and Frankie Kazarian for his spot, whilst Laredo Kid overcame Bhupinder Gujjar and Jai Vidal.
