Nick Khan Confirms The Writers' Strike Won't Affect WWE TV

Nick Khan on the WGA strike and its impact on WWE

WWE CEO and soon-to-be President Nick Khan has confirmed the company won't be affected by the strike from the Writers Guild of America (WGA) that began on Tuesday, May 2.

Khan addressed the strike during WWE's Q1 2023 earnings call and said the following:

"Our writers are not members of the guild, so there is no effect on us whatsoever. Of course we are supportive of the writers who are members of the guild and their efforts, and we are hopeful a deal can be reached between them and the other side in short order."

The WGA went on strike after a deal was not reached with representatives of Hollywood studios. Several late-night TV shows in the United States have already gone on hiatus and production across TV and film is expected to be affected. There is no word on how long the strike will last, but The Independent noted that some expect the dispute to last for months.

Among the issues in negotiations, the WGA noted that residual pay has not adjusted to a streaming world.

WWE employs a whole host of writers who work on creative plans for the organisation's programming. The company recently brought a new writer on board, hiring former NXT UK talent Eddie Dennis as a writer and producer for NXT
