NJPW Announces 50th Anniversary Tour

With New Japan Pro-Wrestling's 50th Anniversary coming up in March 2022, NJPW announced the 50th Anniversary Project today at a special press conference. NJPW President Takami Ohbari was joined by Hiroshi Tanahashi, Togi Makabe and Tomoaki Honma for the announcement.

NJPW announced several events for Q1 2022 as part of the 50th Anniversary Tour. NJPW will head to Xebio Arena in Sendai on February 11, followed by a show at EDION Arena Osaka on February 13. The following weekend, NJPW will hold two shows on February 19 and February 20 in Hokkaido Kita-Yell.

Back-to-back shows from the Nippon Budokan will then take place on March 1 and March 2 to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of New Japan Pro-Wrestling.

NJPW also announced today that the January 2022 tour will be called New Year's Golden Series in homage to the promotion's early tours.

A special exhibit to celebrate NJPW's history will also be showcased in Tokyo Dome City's Gallery AaMo from February 11 until February 27.

In one final announcement, Ohbari revealed NJPW will be working with 50 different companies to produce merchandise like Los Ingobernables de Japon-themed gaming chairs and much more.
