Oba Femi Seen As Future WWE Champion Within The Company

Oba Femi seen as future WWE Champion

WWE have high hopes for Oba Femi.

According to Fightful Select's Corey Brennan, WWE NXT officials have been impressed by Oba Femi's performances since he became NXT North American Champion. The company has big expectations for Femi and he has been described within WWE as someone the organisation view as a future WWE Champion.

A common viewpoint backstage is reportedly that Oba Femi is seen as the "total package". He is considered a source of untapped potential but there are no plans to rush him to the main roster.

Oba Femi has only been a part of WWE since August 2022, having joined the company after signing up for their NIL programme when he was a college athlete. Femi captured the NXT North American Championship on January 9, defeating Dragon Lee after he cashed in his NXT Breakout Tournament contract.

Since his title win, Oba Femi has successfully defended the NXT North American Championship in a rematch with Dragon Lee and against the likes of Lexis King and Brooks Jensen. In total, Femi has only had 30 matches since making his in-ring debut at an NXT house show in November 2022.

WWE Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative Shawn Michaels recently tipped Oba Femi to become a star on the main roster.
