MVP’s WWE return in 2020 and subsequent transformation into Bobby Lashley and The Hurt Business’ handler has been hailed as a masterstroke from WWE, with MVP helping get Lashley over as a main even destroyer.

One of the driving forces behind the former US Champion rejoining WWE was Paul Heyman, with MVP posting a picture of the two of them on Instagram, with the caption reading:

“My return to WWE was inspired by my son. But was facilitated by this man. I'm a Paul Heyman guy!”

Heyman reposted the image on his Instagram story and hailed the re-singing of MVP as one of his best decisions during his tenure as RAW Executive Producer:

“Of all the decisions made as #executivedirector of @wwe #RAW, this ranks up there with the very best ones I made. Proud to call @the305MVP a dear friend, a respected co-worker, a fellow loving father and a co-conspirator! “I am, indeed, humbled by this post. By the way, OMG was I fat!”

Heyman was in the RAW hot-seat from 2019 to 2020.
