Planned Main Event Of WWE Bad Blood Revealed

WWE Bad Blood returns on October 5, 2024, and seems to have a big main event in store.

A recent post by WRKD Wrestling on Twitter claims that the planned main event of WWE Bad Blood is set to be a Hell in a Cell Match between two hated rivals. The post reads:

"CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre in a Hell In A Cell match is currently planned as a main event of October’s PLE, 'Bad Blood.'"

Drew was Punk's opponent last weekend at SummerSlam, the latter's first broadcasted singles match since returning to WWE. With Seth Rollins as special guest referee, McIntyre was able to get the win on Saturday, the latest chapter in a bitter feud that has seen both men attack each other onscreen and on social media.

McIntyre reacted angrily when Punk came back to the company at Survivor Series 2023, although more attention was placed upon a potential feud between Rollins and Punk initially, with a World Heavyweight Championship match between the two planned for WrestleMania 40. Those plans were axed when Punk was injured by McIntyre in the men's Royal Rumble match, leading to an extended break from in-ring action.

Although unable to compete, Punk tormented McIntyre from the sidelines, in response to Drew's gloating about the injury. His attack on the Scotsman allowed Damian Priest to cash in his Money in the Bank contract at 'Mania, moments after Drew had won the title from Rollins. Punk also interfered to cost Drew in a rematch with Priest at Clash at the Castle, held in Glasgow, Scotland. McIntyre, for his part, beat Punk down in a vicious backstage assault, and stole a bracelet bearing the names of Punk's wife and dog.

WWE Bad Blood is set for October 5 at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. The report of a Hell in a Cell match would make sense, as the first-ever use of the Hell in a Cell stipulation came at the original 'Badd Blood: In Your House' event in 1997. Incidentally, that show also took place on October 5.
