Plans to launch a Hulk Hogan-themed sports bar opposite Madison Square Garden haven't been scrapped following the WWE Hall of Famer's passing.
Hogan passed away on Thursday, July 24 at the age of 71 following a cardiac arrest. The nWo co-founder was involved in a number of projects at the time of his passing and it has been announced that Hulk Hogan's SLAM Sports Bar will open as planned this autumn and serve as a living tribute to the Hulkster.
Rich Rosen, the developer behind the bar, said: "Hulk Hogan wasn't just a partner. He was a dear friend and a legend whose impact on sports and entertainment is immeasurable. From the very beginning, Hulk poured his heart into this project. He shaped the spirit of what SLAM was meant to be, a place where fans from around the world could gather at the very corner where his legend began, to celebrate his legacy and the unforgettable moments that defined his career."
Plans for the three-floor, 9000 sq/ft bar will see the venue be filled with Hogan memorabilia and feature a jumbotron playing Hogan's greatest moments. Hogan agreed to a licensing deal for the bar to use his name and serve Real American Beer, with the project coming together after Rich Rosen waited in line for five hours to speak with Hogan at a meet-and-greet.
