Penta & Rey Fenix of the Lucha Brothers tag team are both officially on the WWE roster, and each wrestled at their very first WrestleMania in Las Vegas, Nevada earlier this month, both in losing efforts in their respective matchups.
Prior to Fenix’s arrival in WWE, reports suggested that the company were planning on putting the pair together to compete in the tag team division, but plans changed as each were sent to opposing brands - Penta on Monday Night RAW and Fenix on Friday Night SmackDown. On Fightful Select Answers, Sean Ross Sapp was asked about the potential of the Lucha Brothers reuniting.
It was answered that the brothers would be joining forces at some point in the future, but someone involved with WWE creative explained that they felt that both men were capable of standing on their own two feet and hold their own as singles competitors, ensuring that buzz was created in such a way that their eventual reunion would become a big moment. For time being, expect them to each compete as singles stars, with a tag team run coming later down the line.
Both men joined WWE after parting ways with AEW, where they reigned as AEW World Tag Team Champions.
