The PROGRESS World Championship is set to be defended in a Steel Cage Match for the first time ever later this year.

The UK independent wrestling promotion have announced that Spike Trivet will put his world title on the line against Cara Noir inside a steel cage at Chapter 151 - Heavy Metal on Sunday, April 23 from the Electric Ballroom in London, England.

Trivet and Noir have been feuding since March 2022 when Trivet cost The Black Swan the PROGRESS World Championship in his match with Jonathan Gresham. Trivet and Noir's issues have only worsened since then and their first match at Chapter 134 went to a double DQ which led to an "I Quit" Loser Leaves PROGRESS bout to be booked over 2022's Super Strong Style 16 weekend.

Trivet picked up the win on that occasion which forced Cara Noir to leave PROGRESS. The man underneath the facepaint, Tom Dawkins, continued to perform for the promotion and he defeated Spike in a No DQ match in February 2023 to earn the right for Cara Noir to return.

Trivet has been PROGRESS World Champion since defeating Big Damo for the belt in August 2022.
