Report: AEW Plans For Buddy Matthews & Brody King Revealed

What next for Brody King and Buddy Matthews?

All Elite Wrestling's plans for Brody King and Buddy Matthews have been revealed.

The futures of both competitors was unclear following All Out as talent believe King and Matthews' House of Black stablemate Malakai Black was granted his conditional release from AEW. This comes after reports noted that a personal situation had weighed heavily on Black and he initially had a release request rejected.

This ultimately left Brody King, Buddy Matthews, and Julia Hart without the leader of their faction on TV but it has since emerged that the faction will remain House of Black, with AEW recently trademarking the term. More details on how the group will be booked have been revealed too, and Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer noted on Twitter that Brody King and Buddy Matthews will be used as a tag team.

The pair teamed together in a tag team match for the first time on the September 7 edition of AEW Dark: Elevation, defeating Isaiah Prince and Kubes. King and Matthews had mostly been booked in trios matches while Malakai Black was active, but King did also have a singles feud with Darby Allin during the summer and he unsuccessfully challenged Jon Moxley for the Interim AEW World Championship.
