Report: AEW Releases Ace Steel Following CM Punk Firing

AEW have reportedly released Ace Steel following CM Punk’s firing

Ace Steel is seemingly finished with All Elite Wrestling, with it reported that the controversial producer was released from his contract on September 7.

The news come via PWInsider Elite who state that Steel has been released by AEW, mere months after being rehired by the company.

Originally brought into the company in early 2022 following his release from WWE, Steel made headlines for his part in the infamous All Out 2022 locker-room brawl, with Steel reportedly throwing a chair at Nick Jackson and biting Kenny Omega during The Elite’s fracas with Steel’s close friend and protege CM Punk.

Steel was fired for his part in ‘Brawl Out’ but was brought back into the fold when Punk was negotiating to return, with Steel said to have been working remotely and handling creative and production for Punk on AEW Collision.

With Punk fired by AEW for his backstage fight with Jack Perry at All In and alleged interactions with Tony Khan, it looks as though Steel found himself surplus to requirements. PWInsider’s report alleges that AEW were looking into sorting a facility in Florida for Steel to work with AEW talents, but it seems as that will no longer be necessary.
