Alex Zayne ended his run in independent wrestling last weekend in a loss to Tony Deppen at GCW So Much Fun. "The Sauce" has been prominently featured on the indie scene throughout 2020 for the likes of Black Label Pro and GCW and he has regularly competed for New Japan Pro-Wrestling in the United States.

Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Zayne has signed with WWE, which is why he recently had his last match on the indies.

A recent report from Fightful Select had noted WWE were interested in signing Zayne, as were New Japan.

Zayne looks set to join a packed future class at the WWE Performance Center. NXT UK recently signed Ben Carter after he impressed many with his matches on AEW Dark and IMPACT Wrestling Xplosion. Dez, Wentz and Trey of The Rascalz are also reportedly set to sign with WWE. It was announced on IMPACT! that they would be leaving the promotion and they will have their farewell match next week.
