Report: Backstage Details On CM Punk "Angrily And Aggressively" Confronting Ryan Nemeth At AEW Dynamite

CM Punk got in Ryan Nemeth's face backstage at the June 21 episode of AEW Dynamite

Not only did CM Punk take shots at Hangman Page following the August 12 edition of AEW Collision, but it has been claimed that Punk has blocked Ryan Nemeth and Christopher Daniels from tapings of AEW Collision. Many within the locker room also believe that Punk was involved in stopping Hangman Page, Matt Hardy, and Isiah Kassidy from being in the building at Collision tapings in recent weeks.

Further details have since arose about Punk's issues with Ryan Nemeth, with PWTorch reporting that Punk took exception to Nemeth's "literally the softest man alive" tweet after Punk's AEW return promo on the June 17 edition of AEW Collision in which he stated he was the one true genuine article in a world filled with "counterfeit bucks."

CM Punk appeared on the June 21 taping of AEW Dynamite and PWTorch has claimed that Punk confronted Ryan Nemeth backstage over Nemeth's tweet. Punk is said to have cornered Nemeth in the locker room, got inches from his face and then "angrily and aggressively" asked if they had a problem or if they should settle their issues outside. Punk also told Nemeth that his tweet "inflamed existing tensions and that the optics of the tweet sent a bad message." The confrontation in the locker room was called "awkward and weird" by numerous wrestlers in the locker room.

Nemeth moved the argument to the hallway, where Punk proceeded to continue berating him. Nemeth defended himself by arguing that Punk called out the Bucks first, but Punk said the timing was bad as they were all trying to move on. Nemeth then allegedly asked if he shouldn't react to what Punk says on TV, which Punk said was the right choice. Both men then apparently shook hands and went their separate ways.

Nemeth spoke to friends about the incident and he decided to back off and lay low since "Nemeth has almost no leverage in AEW compared to Punk" and "his job could be at risk if Punk spoke out behind the scenes against him." Nemeth is no longer on Twitter.

Haus of Wrestling in their own report on the confrontation claimed that Punk told Nemeth to call him soft to his face, which Nemeth declined to do. Punk then stated he thought Nemeth was simply trying to score points with The Elite and the confrontation ended with a handshake.

People close to CM Punk have claimed to Fightful Select that Nemeth apologised for the tweet. Punk also reportedly doesn't want Nemeth on Collision, even at catering.
