WWE Confirms Sami Zayn Injury

Latest on Sami Zayn's injury

WWE have confirmed the nature of Sami Zayn's injury.

It emerged on last week's edition of Monday Night Raw that Zayn was dealing with a reported case of bursitis or a bursa sac infection, with Zayn's elbow looking very swollen on WWE TV. WWE addressed Zayn's issue on the August 14 edition of Raw, with Michael Cole stating on commentary during Sami's match with JD McDonagh that Zayn is suffering from traumatic olecranon bursitis.

Zayn was given a break from in-ring action last week, being attacked by JD McDonagh before he was scheduled to team with Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes in the main event of Monday Night Raw.

Despite Sami Zayn's injury, recent reports have noted there are no plans to strip him and Kevin Owens of the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships. The popular tag team have been champions since defeating The Usos for the gold in the main event of WrestleMania 39 night one. Kevin Owens is currently out of action with a broken rib.
