Tony Khan Refuses To Comment On Latest AEW Drama Involving CM Punk

Tony Khan on the latest CM Punk drama in AEW

While All Elite Wrestling looks to be a promotion filled with tension heading into their biggest show ever next week, Tony Khan isn't interested in addressing the latest issues between CM Punk and the AEW locker room.

The hostilities within AEW came to the fore again over the weekend after CM Punk took shots at Hangman Page following the August 12 edition of AEW Collision, something Punk has reportedly apologised to Page for. Reports have noted, though, that Punk has blocked Christopher Daniels and Ryan Nemeth from tapings of AEW Collision and many within the AEW locker room believe Punk has stopped Hangman Page, Matt Hardy, and Isiah Kassidy from being backstage at the Saturday night TV show. Alongside these problems, it has been alleged that Punk confronted Ryan Nemeth backstage at an AEW Dynamite taping on June 21.

Despite all of this, Tony Khan stated on the Battleground podcast that he didn't want to provide any clarity on Punk and his alleged blocking of AEW talents from Collision.

"No, not really. I thought it was a great show Saturday night and I don't have any further comment to that but I am glad people are still very interested in our wrestlers and what's happening after the wrestling shows. I think we'll try to have a couple of great shows this week but certainly there has been a lot of interest in what's happening in AEW in and out of the ring," Khan said.

Whether he wants to be or not, Khan finds himself at the centre of the latest controversy, with reports stating that Khan is a big fan of CM Punk and he chanted loudly for the two-time AEW World Champion following Punk's return promo on June 17.
