Report: Backstage News On AEW Bringing In Rob Van Dam

More details on Rob Van Dam arriving in AEW

The August 2 edition of AEW: Dynamite saw Rob Van Dam make his All Elite Wrestling debut, with the ECW icon confronting FTW Champion Jack Perry ahead of a match between the two on August 9.

After RVD’s debut, the news emerged that ‘The Whole F’n Show’ is only set for one AEW match, with Van Dam used in WWE promotional materials ahead of WrestleMania XL in Philadelphia next year. A new report from Fightful Select has suggested that Van Dam’s appearance has been ‘discussed for some time’, with AEW having to clear the rights to use Pantera classic ‘Walk’ for RVD ahead of time - the same music he used during his initial ECW run in the 90s.

Ahead of his AEW debut, murmurings suggested that the former WWE Champion could be bound for the company, with Jack Perry’s current storyline with HOOK having seen the former ‘Jungle Boy’ running down ECW and its ilk, with the likes of Taz and Jerry Lynn targeted by Perry.
