Report: Backstage News On AEW Moving World Title Unification Match

The AEW World Title Unification match is set for August 24 Dynamite instead of All Out 2022

Amongst all the infighting, ‘shooting’, and returns that engulfed the August 17 edition of AEW: Dynamite, many fans were surprised to see that the AEW World Title Unification match between CM Punk and Jon Moxley was moved from All Out 2022 to next week’s edition of Dynamite on August 24.

Fan speculation about the change has been rife online, and a report from Fightful Select suggests the move was a late decision. The report continues, stating that not much is known about why the decision was made not how late in the day it was made, as AEW higher ups are seemingly keeping their cards close to their chests.

Some have questioned the logic in giving away such a massive match for free on TV, as on paper a title unification clash - never mind a Moxley vs Punk main event - would easily be one of AEW’s biggest PPV main events ever.

With the reports that Punk was allegedly contemplated not showing up for the August 17 Dynamite, it does make the title match even more intriguing.
