Report: Backstage News On Argument Between CM Punk & Jack Perry That Featured A 'Temper Tantrum'

CM Punk and Jack Perry collide backstage

Amidst reports that CM Punk views AEW Collision as his show and the two-time AEW World Champion has blocked the likes of Ryan Nemeth and Christopher Daniels from the Saturday night series, it has emerged that Punk takes his role as the Marshal of Collision very seriously.

Fightful Select has reported that Jack Perry was brought to one of AEW Collision's shows in Canada to film a segment and the former Jungle Boy ended up having words with CM Punk over Perry's plans for the segment. According to those close to Punk, Perry wanted to use real glass, something Punk took exception to over his belief that Perry wanted to use real glass so he didn't need to come to work the following week, something which Punk believes is a big problem in All Elite Wrestling.

Punk's perception was that production, doctors, and Tony Schiavone had advised Perry not to use real glass in the segment, having told the FTW Champion it was a safety hazard. Punk has claimed that he was asked to step in and he calmly did so, telling Perry it's not something they do on Saturdays and if he doesn't like it, he can stay on Wednesday nights.

Perry reportedly wasn't happy about people trying to block the segment over it being a safety hazard and Punk's side claimed that Perry was "throwing a temper tantrum over the spot not being cleared and people trying to prevent it." The confrontation between Punk and Perry was described by several in the AEW locker room as an argument.

Shortly after the argument, AEW introduced new guidelines on certain spots needing clearance.
