Report: Backstage Response To Kris Statlander's AEW Return And TBS Title Win

Positivity and praise backstage for Kris Statlander's AEW TBS Title win

At AEW’s Double or Nothing 2023 event, Kris Statlander shocked AEW fans by returning to the company following a year's absence from the ring. Following Jade Cargill’s TBS Championship defence against Taya Valkyrie, manager Mark Sterling took to the mic and stated that Cargill would fight anyone, anytime, and that there was no one left to beat.

This prompted the surprise return of Statlander, who arrived and fought Cargill in an impromptu title match. Statlander defeated a weakened Cargill, ending her 508-day reign with the gold and putting a stop to the most dominant undefeated streak in AEW. A report from PWInsider has revealed the backstage response to this taking place.

“The amount of people backstage happy for Kris Statlander upon her return and winning the TBS title was described to PWInsider as "infinite" as she's one of the most universally beloved people behind the scenes and has really worked hard to return while also helping out backstage during her recovery period.”

Statlander’s reign has gotten off to a strong start as she successfully retained her newly won prize against Nyla Rose on a recent episode of AEW Dynamite.
