As seen on last week’s WWE Raw, Raw Women’s Champion Asuka took a stiff kick to the face from Shayna Baszler, losing a tooth in the process.
WOR’s Dave Meltzer has claimed that the kick may have been more impactful than first believed, claiming that Asuka might be dealing with a concussion.
Meltzer claimed he was “relatively certain” that Asuka was concussed, adding that “when nobody says it, that's usually what it means.”
The injury occurred during a tag bout between Asuka & Charlotte Flair against WWE Women’s Tag Champions Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax. With Asuka trapping Jax in an armbar, Baszler went to kick Asuka to break the hold, but accidentally connected with the kick, flush in Asuka’s face.
Asuka was absent from this week’s episode of Raw, and WWE have not posted any updates on her condition. However, Charlotte Flair did challenge Asuka to a WWE Raw Women’s Title Match at WrestleMania 37 on Raw, so we can assume that WWE is confident that Asuka will be able to compete at ‘the Showcase of the Immortals’.
