Report: Brock Lesnar Vs. GUNTHER Not Planned For WWE SummerSlam

No GUNTHER vs. Brock Lesnar at WWE SummerSlam

Rumours had suggested this week that Brock Lesnar vs. GUNTHER was under consideration for the summer of 2023, with the idea having been floated within WWE.

The match seemingly won't be coming to WWE TV, though, with Dave Meltzer reporting in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter there are no plans for GUNTHER and Brock Lesnar to face off at SummerSlam or anytime soon. Meltzer noted that could change by the time SummerSlam rolls around but current plans for Lesnar don't have him pencilled in to face Der Ring General.

SummerSlam will take place on Saturday, August 5 at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan.

Both Lesnar and GUNTHER have expressed their desire to face each other inside the squared circle. GUNTHER remains Intercontinental Champion on WWE TV and he recently defeated Sheamus and Drew McIntyre to retain the title at WrestleMania 39. Brock Lesnar defeated Omos at the Showcase of the Immortals and he has since turned heel to feud with Cody Rhodes, with a match likely to take place at Backlash in Puerto Rico on Saturday, May 6.
