Report: Chris Jericho Finishes Up With ROH

After dropping the ROH World Championship to Bandido, it seems as though Chris Jericho is done with Ring of Honor, for the time being at least.

Jericho’s second reign as ROH World Champion ended at Dynasty on April 6, with Jericho later cutting a promo on the April 9 edition of AEW Dynamite stating he was taking a leave of absence. Per a report from Fightful Select, whilst it’s not clear at this time if Jericho is leaving AEW TV, the plan has been for him to exit ROH.

Jericho is soon set to go on tour with his band Fozzy, with his feud with Bandido signalling the end of his current run in ROH. As far as the Fozzy tour is concerned, only one of the band’s planned tour dates is set for a Wednesday, meaning Jericho could work an AEW Wednesday TV taping if needed.

Whilst Jericho’s latter AEW and ROH runs have been divisive at best, the decision to have him reign with the ROH World Championship was in order to help ROH land a TV broadcast deal, with Jericho still having significant name value for potential broadcasters and casual fans.
