Report: CM Punk's Side Softens On Claim That The Young Bucks Kicked Down Locker Room Door

No Superkick Party on CM Punk's door

Many of the details around the backstage fight between The Elite, CM Punk and Ace Steel after Sunday's All Out pay-per-view remain unconfirmed, with both sides having wildly different accounts about what actually happened, from who threw the first punch to the manner in which The Young Bucks entered CM Punk's locker room.

Those close to CM Punk and Ace Steel initially claimed that The Young Bucks pounded on the locker room door and after Punk did not answer, Matt and Nick Jackson "kicked the door down." People who have been in touch with CM Punk and Ace Steel have since softened on that claim, though, and Fightful Select noted CM Punk's side has instead stated that The Young Bucks "could have kicked, shouldered or otherwise forced their way in." Instead, "kicking the door down" was just a turn of phrase and they should have clarified.

CM Punk also did not answer the door because he was either receiving or had just received medical attention and did not feel like speaking to anyone. Punk, of course, did say in his now-infamous All Out press conference that anyone who had a problem should speak to him directly.

In a further change to their initial account, CM Punk's side has now said that Ace Steel became involved as he thought Kenny Omega was attacking Punk when The Best Bout Machine was trying to pull the then-AEW World Champion off one of The Young Bucks. It was initially claimed that Steel bit Kenny Omega and threw a chair at Nick Jackson because his wife was in the vicinity of the altercation.

Fightful Select did reiterate, though, that "the accounts of the fight are wildly different from each side, and even different versions of each side, and shouldn't be taken as gospel. These are just what have been relayed to people close to them."

Since the backstage fight, all involved have been suspended while a third party investigates what happened. CM Punk is also currently out of action due to a torn triceps and he will be on the shelf for the next several months.
