Report: CM Punk Screamed & Lunged At Tony Khan Following Backstage Altercation With Jack Perry At AEW All In

CM Punk allegedly went off at Tony Khan after backstage fight with Jack Perry at AEW All In

Despite being a monumental night for All Elite Wrestling and pro wrestling in general, all talk coming out of All In was unfortunately centred around CM Punk and Jack Perry having a backstage fight, with numerous reports attempting to stitch together what happened.

A new report from Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has suggested that Punk got heated with AEW President Tony Khan immediately after the altercation with Perry, screaming and swearing at the AEW CEO. Meltzer’s report suggests that Punk ‘lunged’ in Khan’s direction after the altercation was broken up but several people got in Punk’s way, with the former AEW World Champion screaming “I quit” at Khan during the episode.

The information comes from a ‘neutral’ source backstage who is ‘not a wrestler’, with their account also suggesting that during Punk’s fight with Perry, Perry ascertained that his ‘cry me a river’ comments were just his attempt at getting heel heat. Punk is then said to have shoved Perry hard, then sucker punched and choked Perry when he got in Punk’s face. During this Khan was said to have been yelling at Punk to let the former ‘Jungle Boy’ go.

As for Punk lunging for Khan, this ties in with earlier reports suggesting that Punk and Perry’s fight occurred in front of Khan and saw monitors knocked down onto the AEW boss. This new account of events suggests that monitors were indeed knocked off during this, and a ‘very upset’ Samoa Joe went to calm Punk down.

It had previously been revealed that CM Punk angrily confronted Tony Khan at All In before his fracas with Perry. CM Punk and Jack Perry have since been suspended while AEW investigates what happened during the altercation.
