Report: CM Punk Wants To Come Back To AEW

CM Punk reportedly wants to return to AEW

In an update on CM Punk, Dave Meltzer has reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that the two-time AEW World Champion wants to come back to All Elite Wrestling. If Punk can return, though, is ultimately down to AEW CEO Tony Khan.

"What it says is he wants back in, which we've already known, and other people have said that too. It's up to Tony [Khan]. Tony is going to make a decision at some point. Right now, he's probably just about ready if not ready already from the torn triceps so it is one of those things that he can do soon enough. And then it's a tough decision," Meltzer said.

Meltzer's comments come after Dax Harwood revealed to Fightful that Punk had been reading Steve Keirn's new book which has made The Second City Savior miss pro wrestling. Punk then commented on a Pro Wrestling Podcast Instagram post in which he referred to a fight between Keirn and Koko B Ware being sorted by Jerry Lawler.

"Great story about Gator and Koko fighting in the locker room and then lawler drags em in the office the next day and they squash it. Fascinating. Best book about a fascinating man in a strange business since Bret wrote his book," Punk wrote.

Punk and Ace Steel infamously brawled with The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega following Punk's post-All Out media scrum in September 2022. They were all suspended following the incident but The Elite have since returned and Ace Steel was fired. Punk remains away from AEW due to a torn triceps injury. If he is still suspended is unknown.

Measures were taken on this week's episode of AEW Dynamite to hide Punk's face on a production truck
