Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes is said to be "a little roughed up" after the recent attack by Kevin Owens, but the overall reception to the angle has been positive within the company.

This is according to a report by Fightful Select, which states:

"WWE were very happy with how it came off. Cody Rhodes was actually a little roughed up after the spot. However, it garnered buzz and came off as very spontaneous, which the company loved."

The aftermath of last weekend's WWE Bad Blood PLE saw Owens attack Rhodes in the parking lot, a unique piece of storyline development which took place away from cameras, relying on fans to record the action and share it on social media. It's perhaps another sign of creative change in WWE with Triple H at the helm.

Cody took part in the main event of Bad Blood in Atlanta, Georgia last Saturday, teaming with Roman Reigns to defeat the duo of Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu.

However, The Rock made a surprise appearance after the match to stare Cody down from the stage, and the champion's troubles didn't end there, with Owens' post-show parking lot attack to follow.

Owens' motivation is yet to be revealed, but has been hinted at on recent episodes of SmackDown in the build to Bad blood, in which Kevin appeared unhappy at Cody's decision to team with Reigns.
