Report: Current Plans For AEW Blood & Guts Revealed

Latest on plans for 2023's AEW Blood & Guts

One of All Elite Wrestling's trademark matches looks set to return soon.

Fightful Select has reported that AEW are targeting Boston as the location for this year's edition of Blood & Guts. The promotion will head to Boston on Wednesday, July 19 for an AEW Dynamite taping from the TD Garden. Speculation has tipped Blood & Guts to involve The Elite and Blackpool Combat Club in some fashion but plans may have to be amended as Bryan Danielson suffered a fractured arm at Forbidden Door that will keep him out of action for six to eight weeks.

All Elite Wrestling introduced Blood & Guts back in 2020 but the first match between The Elite and The Inner Circle was scrapped due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The match debuted one year later instead and saw The Pinnacle defeat The Inner Circle. In 2022, the team of Blackpool Combat Club, Eddie Kingston, Santana, and Ortiz defeated the Jericho Appreciation Society. Both matches have taken place on special editions of Dynamite.

Blood & Guts is heavily inspired by WarGames and sees a steel cage surround two rings. The match can only be won after a member of one of the teams quits.
