Report: Heavy WWE Backstage Praise For El Grande Americano Vs. Dragon Lee

There was heavy internal praise within WWE for El Grande Americano vs. Dragon Lee on the March 24 edition of Monday Night Raw from Glasgow, Scotland.

WrestleVotes reported on a Backstage Pass Q&A:

"I did hear there was some heavy praise coming out of that match last night. Gable and Dragon Lee killed it, crowd loved it, people backstage loved it. And that's no surprise, Chad Gable has been getting this for years and we know what kind of talent Dragon Lee has. So good on both of them, but I did hear that there was some heavy praise backstage for those two men."

El Grande Americano picked up the win over Dragon Lee on Raw after ripping off Lee's mask and applying the ankle lock, forcing the LWO member to tap out.

El Grande Americano - AKA Chad Gable in a mask - was at the centre of controversy on Raw, however, as WWE billed him from the 'Gulf of America', playing into the ongoing tensions between the United States and Mexico following WWE Hall of Famer and US President Donald Trump's signing of an executive order to direct federal agencies to refer to the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America. Generative AI was also allegedly used to produce a video package explaining El Grande Americano's origins on Raw.
