Reports have emerged stating that D’Lo Brown will no longer be providing colour commentary for IMPACT Wrestling, with the former WWE European Champion being permanently replaced by Mathew Rehwoldt in the booth.

The news comes via PWInsider, who confirmed with sources at IMPACT that this was the case, with Brown written off TV at the start of the year by Honor No More, before Rehwoldt stepped in to cover him.

However, this is not said to be a demotion for Brown, nor were IMPACT unhappy with his work on commentary, but a streamlining of Brown’s role in the company, as D’Lo also serves as IMPACT’s head of talent relations, and as a backstage producer. D’Lo will therefore be able to commit more time to his backstage duties now he’s not on comms.

It was also said that IMPACT have been ‘blown away’ by the broadcast team of Rehwoldt and Tom Hannifan, with the two quickly building up a rapport as a commentary team. The decision was seemingly made to push forward with the pair on commentary, rather than pull D’Lo and Rehwoldt from pillar to post.
