Report: Jon Moxley Finished With GCW

Jon Moxley reportedly done with GCW

As seen at GCW Fight Club Night One on October 8, Nick Gage is once again your GCW World Champion after defeating Jon Moxley.

The timing of this title change seemingly spoke volumes, with AEW announcing a day earlier that Moxley had signed a new five year deal with the company working exclusively with AEW and its ‘international partners’, with many wondering what this meant for Moxley’s GCW run. Now a report from Fightful Select suggests that Moxley is indeed done with GCW.

The report alleges that AEW didn’t want Moxley to work the show and have been asking their talent to not work GCW dates ‘for months’. However it is said that Moxley insisted on finishing up his run with GCW, and with no future dates penned in for the AEW World Champion it seems that his time with GCW is officially over for now, with Moxley doing the honours for Gage after The Firm’s Stokely Hathaway and W. Morrissey interfered.

It is believed that whilst Moxley will work for AEW ‘and its international partners’ such as NJPW, he will still be able to appear on the indies, but more on a ‘surprise’ basis rather than being the focal point of any card and all relevant promotional material.
