Former TNA Wrestling executive Josh Mathews was reportedly working backstage for All Elite Wrestling at the recent Dynasty pay-per-view event on April 6.

Per a report from F4WOnline, Mathews - real name Josh Lomberger - was working at the show, although under what capacity Mathews was working has not been disclosed, nor if this was a trial or if he is indeed a full-time member of the production set-up.

Mathews was fired by TNA in February 2025 as part of a massive backstage reshuffle for the company, with Mathews' tenure in the company coming to an end after 11 years. Formerly TNA/IMPACT lead announcer, Mathews had transitioned into a backstage production role in recent years. Mathews’ wife Madison Rayne has worked for AEW for several years.

Prior to TNA, Mathews worked for WWE for several years, working as an announcer and backstage interviewer from 2002 until his release in 2014.

If Mathews has indeed joined AEW then he will not be the first to have made the move from TNA, with Jimmy Jacobs formerly working for TNA before a quick 16-month spell in AEW’s production team.
