A local rivalry led to boos during the taping of Monday Night Raw.

WWE have recently produced MLB-inspired WWE Championship title belts for all 30 teams ahead of Opening Day 2024. Similar to the NFL belts, each title features the official colours and branding of all teams in Major League Baseball.

Monday Night Raw emanated from the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois and the rivalry between the Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox fuelled boos at the event. PWInsider noted that Samantha Irvin ended up being booed by Chicago White Sox fans after she mentioned that Chicago Cubs-inspired WWE title belts were on sale inside the venue.

The Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox have a long-running rivalry, with the Cubs playing their home games at Wrigley Field on Chicago's North Side. The White Sox, meanwhile, play their home games at Guaranteed Rate Field on Chicago's South Side.

This isn't the first time sports has fuelled boos at a pro wrestling event in recent years. All Elite Wrestling advertised tickets for Fulham vs. Tottenham Hotspur in the Carabao Cup during the All In 2023 pre-show which led to a huge chorus of boos from everyone in Wembley Stadium who supported a different football team.
