Report: Malakai Black's AEW Deal Expiring Sooner Than Believed

Malakai Black to leave AEW?

Malakai Black may not be a part of All Elite Wrestling for much longer.

That is according to Wrestling Inc. founder Raj Giri, who reported that Black's contract is set to expire in early 2025. AEW are currently in the process of trying to re-sign Black but he is the subject of major interest from outside of All Elite Wrestling.

"Malakai Black's #AEW contract is apparently expiring soon. I know Tony Khan had stated in 2022 that Black was under contract for 5 years, but the word I'm hearing is that it is actually up early next year and AEW is working to re-sign him. I've also heard that there is major interest in him outside of AEW," Giri tweeted, in part.

AEW CEO Tony Khan stated back in the Summer of 2022 that Black had "almost five years left on his deal." There have been conflicting information since then, however, about Black's contract, with reports earlier this year noting that the former AEW World Trios Champion's deal "takes him into 2025", while people within AEW believe Black's deal runs until the end of 2024 but two option years were added at one point.

Malakai Black joined All Elite Wrestling in the Summer of 2021, shortly after his WWE release. He is currently a part of House of Black with Brody King, Buddy Matthews, and Julia Hart.
