Matt Cardona seemingly won't be All Elite in the near future. According to Sean Ross Sapp on the Fightful Select Report, Cardona has told people he wasn't signed with AEW and won't be signing with the promotion.
"There had been rumours of him being offered a contract. I don't know if that's true or whatever the case may be there but he had told people that he wasn't signed and wasn't signing as of now with AEW," Sean Ross Sapp said.
Matt Cardona has appeared on AEW and ROH programming over the past month to work an ROH World Title feud with Chris Jericho that culminated at Final Battle. Reports noted ahead of the pay-per-view that Cardona had been offered a contract by All Elite Wrestling.
Cardona ultimately lost to Chris Jericho at Final Battle. He sustained an ankle injury in the match too and Cardona was spotted walking with crutches following the Hammerstein Ballroom event.
While Cardona may not have signed with AEW, relations appear to be positive between the two parties. Sean Ross Sapp further noted: "He made the right people happy there and they liked his stuff."
