Report: Minimum WWE Main Roster Salary Revealed

How times have changed...

The current minimum salary a WWE main roster performer earns has been reported in the most recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter

According to the publication, those on WWE's main roster earn a minimum of $350,000 per year. This is in stark contrast to previous years, where those just starting out on the main roster could be expected to earn far less than that. Around 20 years ago, for example, the starting number would be around $75,000 per year for lower-card talent.

However, these numbers would typically be 'downside guarantees', with talent able to earn far more depending on things such as merchandise, appearing on pay-per-views, working international tours etc. The downside guarantee was simply what they were guaranteed to earn regardless of how much they worked.

For a time, the highest downside guarantee offered was around $1 million. These days, top WWE stars earn far more than that before factoring in royalties and bonuses. A 2022 report detailed WWE's then-highest earners, noting that Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns, Randy Orton and Ronda Rousey as earning $5 million per year.

WWE recently re-signed Finn Balor, Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre and Charlotte Flair to long-term, big-money deals.
