Report: MJF Talking More About Pursuing Acting

MJF going to Hollywood?

There has been a twist in the ongoing saga between All Elite Wrestling and MJF.

According to Fightful Select, Friedman was not in attendance for the Warner Bros. Discovery and AEW party following the June 1 episode of Dynamite in Los Angeles, nor was MJF at Rampage two days later.

Instead, Friedman reportedly remained in LA for several days and he has a growing interest in pursuing opportunities in Hollywood. According to friends of MJF and Fightful's sources, MJF has spoken more about "the possibility of getting into acting." AEW heard Friedman had meetings in LA last week about possibly exploring opportunities in Hollywood and many heard about MJF's acting ambitions as early as March.

The Salt Of The Earth also claimed to have recorded a voiceover for an animation that will be released in 2023.

AEW and MJF have not been on the best of terms in recent months as Friedman remained frustrated over his contract with the promotion and had blown off overtures about discussing an extension prior to Double Or Nothing. MJF then did not show up for the Double Or Nothing Fan Fest although he did work his scheduled pay-per-view match against Wardlow.

A few days later, Friedman cut a pipe bomb promo on Dynamite in which he demanded Tony Khan fire him. Many believe that MJF's issues with AEW, including him no-showing the Fan Fest, was a shoot but the situation has since turned into a work.

In an update, Fightful noted Friedman spoke with Tony Khan at the May 27 Rampage taping prior to Double Or Nothing. There is no word on what was discussed, nor how the conversation went, however.
