MJF looks to have been written off AEW programming
At last night’s AEW All Out 2024 PPV, MJF picked up a victory over Daniel Garcia in an intense opening match. He nailed a low blow at the end of the contest to help him score the win, but he wasn’t the one standing tall when things were all said and done. After the bell, MJF attempted to give Garcia a handshake, but he instead received a kick to the privates.
Garcia would then hit a Piledriver from the top rope onto MJF as revenge. Garcia gave MJF a big old kiss on the head before leaving. Doctors arrived to put MJF in a neck brace before carrying him out. The finish of the match wasn’t the original plan though, according to a report from Ibou of WrestlePurists on X.
The reason for the change in finish is due to the fact that Garcia has still not put pen to paper for a new AEW contract, and even though the belief is that Garcia will be remaining with AEW, they went ahead and had MJF win the match. Additionally, it seems as though the post-match angle was done to write MJF off AEW programming for the time being, as it is also noted that he is going to film a movie.
