Report: Nick Aldis Has "Magma Heat" In NWA

Nick Aldis has heat in NWA

The main event to the NWA 74 PPV event has been changed, with NWA World’s Heavyweight Champion Trevor Murdoch now set to face TV Champion Tyrus, after Nick Aldis was removed due to alleged ‘magma heat’ with NWA President Billy Corgan.

Corgan himself revealed the match change during an appearance on Busted Open Radio, with Corgan taking aim at Aldis for behind the scenes politicking:

“In the case of Nick Aldis - yes, your number one contender for the NWA World’s Heavyweight Championship against Trevor Murdoch in St. Louis - I’ve dealt with this man for over four years, and for every ounce of politicking you see publicly there’s about ten times worse behind the scenes. No one stresses me out more in the NWA than Nick Aldis, no one is more highly paid than Nick Aldis and no one is more unhappy than Nick Aldis,” Corgan said.

A subsequent report from PWInsider states that relations between the two are not what they were in the past. Aldis has allegedly been very critical of Corgan’s creative direction for the NWA, with sources claiming there is ‘magma level heat’ towards Aldis for constantly speaking out against Corgan, and for Aldis promoting himself over the company.

Aldis is still scheduled to wrestle at NWA 74, although no opponent has yet been named. The former two-time NWA World’s Heavyweight Champion has been key to the promotion’s revival over the last few years, and is under contract with NWA through the end of 2022.
