Report: No AEW Plans For Wardlow & Samoa Joe Vs. Swerve In Our Glory Feud

A correction from last week

Hurricane Ian caused disruption to All Elite Wrestling's plans for the September 28 edition of Dynamite as several talents were missing from the taping, including Samoa Joe, Swerve Strickland, and Jake Hager.

A report from Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter initially noted that the storm derailed AEW's plans to start a Wardlow and Samoa Joe vs. Swerve Strickland and Keith Lee programme. Meltzer has since corrected that report, though, putting it down to a miscommunication.

There were ultimately no plans to begin a feud between Swerve in our Glory and WarJoe. Storyline angles were planned for both teams, just got against each other. Keith Lee did still appear on Dynamite in a backstage segment with new AEW World Tag Team Champions The Acclaimed.

Swerve Strickland and Keith Lee look set to face The Acclaimed in a rubber match soon, while Wardlow successfully defended the TNT Championship against Brian Cage on Dynamite this week before he was attacked by The Embassy. Samoa Joe made the save soon after.
