People close to the situation believe WWE will end up owning TNA Wrestling.

WWE and TNA formalised their working relationship on January 16, announcing a multi-year partnership that will see WWE NXT and TNA talents appear across both promotions. This includes WWE NXT on Tuesdays, TNA IMPACT on Thursdays, TNA pay-per-views, and WWE premium live events.

Dave Meltzer has reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that people close to the situation believe the partnership will eventually lead to WWE owning TNA Wrestling, while others think the working relationship is going to be a disaster. One reason for the working relationship on WWE's side, though, is the company wants to help TNA secure international TV deals to harm All Elite Wrestling.

"There's a lot of stuff that's going to be part of this deal but the key stuff is they want to get NXT [TNA] on those television outlets that they're leaving - I'm sure India being the big one - so AEW doesn't get those television outlets that they're leaving. Because all of their shows are on Netflix internationally, they can't put anything on those stations so they want to make sure it's not AEW on those stations. So that's one of the many reasons that they're doing this. I know people who are close to the situation think it will end up with WWE owning them. Others think it's going to be a disaster because it always is at the end, every company WWE works with always end up worse off," Meltzer said.

WWE NXT and TNA began working together in May 2024 when then-TNA Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace made a surprise appearance on NXT and went on to challenge Roxanne Perez for the NXT Women's Title at Battleground. Several talents have since crossed over between WWE NXT and TNA, including at TNA's recent Genesis pay-per-view.
