Hulk Hogan was not present on the January 20 edition of Monday Night Raw but the WWE Hall of Famer still ended up having a presence on the show after being mentioned by CM Punk.

Punk was interviewed on the show about the upcoming Men's Royal Rumble Match, during which he stated he would eliminate anyone on his way to victory, including Hulk Hogan. Punk said:

"You can put Hulk Hogan in the Royal Rumble - I'll throw his dusty ass over the top rope and I'll kill Hulkamania once and for all."

Fightful Select has reported that Punk's mention of Hulk Hogan was not a scripted line. There was no heat on Punk for the comment, however, and it drew laughs from people backstage.

CM Punk has notably had issues with Hulk Hogan in the past, simply saying "f*ck him" in 2019 after Punk was asked if he was a Hulk Hogan guy growing up. Punk then said in 2021 that you can argue Hulk Hogan was a bigger star than Stone Cold Steve Austin but "Hogan is a piece of sh*t."

Hogan was booed out of the building during his first in-person appearance on WWE programming in two years on the WWE Raw Netflix premiere in early January. Hogan is planned to be in the building for the January 25 edition of Saturday Night's Main Event.
