Report: Plans For WWE Raw & SmackDown Live Rosters Revealed

Exclusive rosters...

Back on the May 6 episode of WWE Raw, Vince McMahon had an epiphany as he introduced the Wild Card Rule to WWE.

Initially, three Superstars from Raw could appear on SmackDown Live any given week, and vice versa. Then it became four Superstars, and then everyone working behind the scenes in the company seemingly forgot how to count as the Wild Card Rule became a free-for-all.

Fans who aren't too keen on the Wild Card will be relieved to read a report in this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter where Dave Meltzer claims the current plans will see exclusive rosters reinstated to Raw and SmackDown Live.

The report does not state when this will happen, or what this means for NXT with the yellow and gold brand's weekly WWE Network show moving to the USA Network on September 18.

For the avoidance of any doubt, here's what Meltzer penned in the latest WON: "Right now there is a concept of another draft type of thing to build permanent Raw and Smackdown rosters. What we were originally told is that they wouldn't be making major changes, but some changes, but this is Vince. Everything is being kept quiet and USA and FOX will be the first to know when the concept is decided."
