WWE is approaching SummerSlam season, once again hosting a two-night event as the company heads to the US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota on August 1 and 2. News has emerged in recent weeks regarding some plans for the show, with some talk now about the WWE Women’s Championship picture and the potential opponent for reigning champion Rhea Ripley.
According to a report from False Finish, there have been internal pitches for a match between Rhea Ripley and recent call-up from NXT, Jacy Jayne, who is among the newest members of the Friday Night SmackDown roster. Since joining SmackDown, Jayne has picked up a victory over Charlotte Flair and suffered a DQ loss to Ripley.
Jayne has already been knocked out of the Queen Of The Ring tournament, suggesting the winner of the knockout competition would end up selecting to face Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan. Other reports on SmackDown’s women’s division suggest plans are in place for a Charlotte Flair vs. Jade Cargill at SummerSlam.
