Andrade

On January 28,

WWE

confirmed that United States Champion Andrade had been suspended for 30 days for violating the company's wellness policy. In a break with convention, Andrade held onto the US title and will remain Champion until he returns at the end of February.

Now, more details have emerged about El Idolo's suspension from former WWE commentator

Hugo Savinovich

. In a video on his Facebook page, Savinovich explained that Andrade was "innocent" and had been suspended in similar circumstances to Primo Colon.

Colon

said that he was suspended by the company because he refused to fly to mainland USA for a drug test and instead said he would be happy to take a test at a facility in Puerto Rico. The former Shining Star then did not hear back from WWE until they announced his suspension.

Savinovich said: "Wrestlers in WWE have commented about this situation in the locker room, a world where you'll hear all sorts of things. Andrade, I dare say it publicly, I understand is innocent."

While Savinovich does not definitively confirm Andrade did not fail a drug test, the former IWGP Intercontinental Champion was on holiday in late December with his fiance Charlotte Flair when WWE was carrying out the tests, meaning he may have refused to cut his holiday short and fly back to the States.
