Last week,

Dave Meltzer reported

that Rusev had been taken off Monday Night Raw because of a contract dispute with WWE.

The company

has made it one of their top priorities to sign The Bulgarian Brute to a new deal, but similar to The Revival, Rusev has refused to put pen to paper on a new contract.

Many speculated that Rusev's dispute had been resolved as WWE announced he would in action at the next pay-per-view, Super ShowDown, on February 27. He will compete on Rusev Day in a Six-Man Gauntlet match against AJ Styles, R-Truth, Erick Rowan, Bobby Lashley, and Andrade for the Tuwaiq Mountain Trophy.

This is not the case, however, as

Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter

that the former United States Champion is still having issues with WWE over his contract, but his current deal doesn't expire for a while so the company has decided to use him in the meantime.

For the avoidance of doubt, Meltzer wrote: "Also announced is New Day defending the Smackdown tag team titles against The Miz & John Morrison, and a six-man gauntlet series (meaning five matches in theory) from Raw for the Tuwaiq Trophy. The match has A.J. Styles, Andrade, Bobby Lashley, Rusev, Erick Rowan and R-Truth. Rusev being announced for the show is not a sign that his contract issues are settled, but he still has plenty of time left on his current deal."
