Report: Some People Not Confident About A Meeting Between Chris Jericho & CM Punk

There is a lack of confidence about a meeting between AEW's CM Punk and Chris Jericho

CM Punk has been front and centre of rumours over the last few weeks ahead of a potential return to AEW programming. In an attempt to smooth things over and make his comeback work, there was talk about a meeting between Punk and Chris Jericho who have previously not seen eye to eye. A feud between the pair has even been rumoured as a return programme for Punk.

However, it seems as though not everyone is fully convinced that a meeting between the two parties will end positively. Wade Keller of PWTorch talked about backstage reactions to this meeting;

"Among the people I've talked to, there's not a high level of confidence that the meeting is going to go well and that it could make things worse, but maybe not. Maybe things will work out. But people who have been around Punk, know Punk, know people who have known Punk for a very long time, are not optimistic that FTR mediating a meeting between Jericho and Punk is going to lead to progress. The other thing is, is it just sounds by every indication [that] The Bucks, The Young Bucks, Matt and Nick Jackson's heels are dug in. And I think the Brandon Cutler comment adds to it. I just don't see those parties reconciling.”

CM Punk is supposedly set for a return in June when AEW debuts a brand new 2-hour show, though of course things may very well change in terms of a rivalry with Chris Jericho if this meeting doesn’t go down too well.
