TNA wrestlers are reportedly not positive about the creative direction of the promotion since Thursday Night IMPACT's premiere on AMC on January 15, 2026.

Following Steve Maclin's release, Fightful Select has reported that the former TNA World Champion had been very outspoken directly about TNA's creative direction dating back to 2025 and Maclin was amongst a number of wrestlers who didn't believe creative had improved since the switch from AXS TV to AMC.

There had been hope in late 2025 that TNA creative would "get a big step up" with the move to AMC, but criticism of TNA creative from fans has only continued into 2026. The key figures in TNA creative are Hunter "Delirious" Johnson and Tommy Dreamer, who both report to TNA President Carlos Silva.

The pay scale is also considered an issue within TNA Wrestling, with the majority of wrestlers not signed to full-time salaried contracts. Instead, many of TNA's deals are short-term contracts, with the likes of Fabian Aichner and Daria Rae putting pen to paper on short-term deals with TNA in 2026. TNA World Champion Mike Santana also only signed a short-term extension in late 2025 and his deal is due to expire in July of 2026.
