Report: Update On Chris Jericho's AEW Contract

What next for Le Champion?

While Chris Jericho's All Elite Wrestling in-ring career could be coming to an end, it doesn't appear The Painmaker will be leaving the company anytime soon.

Jericho is set to face MJF for the third time in singles action at All Out, and if the former AEW World Champion loses he will never wrestle in the promotion again.

Jericho signed a three-year deal with AEW shortly after the company was formed in January 2019, which would mean his deal is up at the end of 2021.

That reportedly isn't the case, though, and Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that Jericho's three-year deal has a one-year option on it.

"There's a one-year option. So in a sense, it's up at the end of next year. So a year and a half left," Meltzer said.

Since signing with AEW in 2019, Jericho has been presented as one of the promotion's biggest stars. Le Champion was the inaugural AEW World Champion and he held the gold for 182 days before dropping it to Jon Moxley. He is also the leader of The Inner Circle, one of AEW's top factions.
