After making his surprise AEW debut on the May 18 edition of Dynamite, Johnny Elite was once again in action on June 1, losing to a returning Miro on Dynamite.
However, despite making two high profile appearances on AEW’s premier TV show, a report from Fightful Select states that Johnny has not signed a full-time deal with AEW, with the company itself allegedly confirming this to Fightful.
So far Johnny Elite has wrestled three matches for AEW - the aforementioned loss to Miro, as well as his debut loss to Samoa Joe in the Owen Hart Foundation memorial Tournament, and a win over Private Party’s Marq Quen on AEW Dark.
After his WWE release in November 2021, the artist formerly known as John Morrison/Nitro/Mundo/IMPACT has wrestled for the likes of AAA (as Johnny Caballero) and GCW (as Johnny Game Changer) as well as his appearances for AEW as Johnny Elite.
A former ECW and IMPACT World Champion, Elite/Morrison/Hennigan has also held gold in WWE, Lucha Underground, and AAA amongst others.
